Dashboard
The Dashboard is the first page you see after logging in. It provides an at-a-glance view of your active cases, pending tasks, and unread notifications, plus quick shortcuts to common workflows.
Overview
On desktop, the dashboard uses a two-column layout: a sidebar with your profile and quick actions on the left, and your tasks, notifications, and recent cases on the right. On mobile, all sections collapse into an accordion so you can expand the one you need.
Quick Actions
Six shortcut buttons give you one-click access to the most common workflows:
Add Evidence
Upload media to a case
Log Hours
Create a time entry
New Case
Start a new investigation
New Client
Add a client record
View Bookmarks
See your starred items
New Contact
Add a professional contact
Recent Cases
The recent cases section shows your most recently updated cases in a sortable, paginated table. You can sort by title, case number, status, or last-updated date. On mobile, cases appear as swipeable cards instead of a table.
Which cases you see depends on your role: owners, admins, and seniors see all cases in their organization, while members and externals only see cases where they have an explicit access entry.
Task Preview
The task section displays your pending and in-progress tasks (see Tasks for details). Toggle between "All Tasks" and "Assigned to Me" to focus on what you need. On desktop, a mini calendar shows tasks by due date with color-coded dots for each scope type (personal, work, organization, client, case). Click any day to see that day's tasks in a popover.
You can complete, delete, or star tasks directly from the dashboard without navigating to the full tasks page.
Notification Preview
Unread notifications appear in a compact list on the dashboard. Click any notification to mark it as read and jump to the related resource (case, task, or transfer). A "View All" link takes you to the full notifications page.
Profile and Licenses
The profile card in the sidebar shows your name, email, organization role, and active case count. Below it, your professional licenses are listed with expiration status indicators:
- Active: license is current
- Expiring: license expires within 90 days (yellow warning)
- Expired: license has passed its expiration date (red alert)
Privacy Setting
If you enable "Hide Personal Tasks on Homepage" in your settings, personal tasks and their reminder notifications are filtered from the dashboard.
